Empowering Cancer Patients Through Compassionate Care

Supporting the Georgina Unit for Better Cancer Treatment

The Leukaemia Unit appeal fund for the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley became a registered charity in February 1989, but fundraising had been taking place prior to this date since the opening of Russells Hall Hospital in 1984, when the need for a unit was identified.

The Georgina Unit was opened in April 1998 with an official opening by Ian Botham MBE in June of that year. Ian Botham and the late Earl of Dudley are the two Patrons of the Fund.
